Choose Slide

1. 35mm Calibration Slide for use on Kodak Elite Chrome
2. 35mm Calibration Slide for use on Polaroid PolaChrome
3. 35mm Calibration Slide for use on FujiChrome

Fully IT8 and G60 target compatible
All of my slides are compatible with
1. Silverfast HDR (see note)
2. Vuescan
3. Other software and hardware which uses IT8 industry standard slides.

Note:
Silverfast HDR allows use of a standard IT8 slide- some versions of Silverfast only work with SIlverfast slides with their own barcode and color chart. Silverfast HDR allows use of an industry standard IT8 or G60 slide. I am not affiliated in any way with Silverfast or Vuescan. Both are excellent software.

I can provide industry standard IT8 / G60 data file upon request. This allows use on popular software you already own. Data file provided at no extra charge only to buyer after purchase of my slide. Please do not share or post the data file as it is custom made for my slide and gives perfect results. I spent many hours making the slides and files on professional equipment.

My Polaroid slide is not for IT8 or G-60 use as the Polaroid film should be considered artistic or experimental. My polaroid slide is for manual calibration and adjustment only, sorry. My Kodak and Fuji slides are for professional use in conjunction with the above listed software.

Postage, Handling, Packaging
I'm not a big fancy mfg. Just a one-man shop with inventions and creative products and services. I ship in a plain sturdy cardboard package double protected and taped with packaging tape. Shipped by US Post Office which isn't very fast at all so please allow ample time. Each package gets a delivery confirmation number/tracking number and is shipped within 5 days of your payment.

Some Facts About It
Kodak Elite film is interesting- you'll enjoy its unique color rendition. The slide mount is standard cardboard/paper and is not removable without destroying the paper- it is possible for you to remove the film from the slide and mount it on your own mount. This slide was created on a Polaroid 7000 Film Recorder which had output at 4096x2732, The actual quality as recorded by my unique DPI/LPI indicator found on the slide itself is approximately 4000dpi which is typical of this film type- average film resolution. The slightly slanted appearance when scanned is due to the industrial mounting process - the film itself is straight and true and can be mounted on your own slide mount (yes one empty plastic slide mount is included). Use my slide for experimenting with your scanner to achieve the best results using specialty software (no software is provided here) or standard image editing software (software you already own) to get the colors and settings just right.

Includes many unique features such as
1. Color Saturation 3-Stage 4-Level Brightness/Contrast Scale
2. CMYK and RGB Scales
3. Skin Tone Image and Mini-Scale
4. Corner Measurement Angles Connected by Straight Lines
5. Grayscale 0% to 100%
6. DPI & LPI estimator
7. Wording and Numbers in various sizes and styles
8. Two resolution indicator orbs

35mm slides are extremely sensitive to scratches and cannot be cleaned with a cotton swab or touched with your finger. I provide no fancy package and my price is low. Compare to many big-name companies selling one calibration slide for several hundred dollars each! Mine is a few bucks and also has a money back guaranty. I do my best to show the actual object and describe it thoroughly.

Why Do You Need a Calibration Slide?
Most people don't. Many people buy department store slide scanners and are perfectly happy with the standard color scanning they can get out of ordinary scanners and the software that comes with it. On the other hand, some people want to tweak their colors and correct the fading and off-colors as slide film ages. A slide with a color chart helps them to tweak the grayscale and blacks until they are colorless and not blue-ish or red-ish or green-ish. They also like to see if their scanner can truly pick up fine details (I have a resolution indicator built-in which will confirm whether you can see that level of detail) and the most important reason is color accuracy which the colors can help you see the full color range and tweak settings in your software. Of course, squareness or corners and lines is also part of the slide. Is it a necessity- for most people no. For those that want to tweak their colors until they are right- that is my target audience.

Satisfaction Guaranty
Not happy? Email me and receive your money back. Please no nasty or negative feedback about crookedly mounted slides etc as- this is for the Kodak Elite Slide film enthusiast and is sold as processed by a standard film processing lab. The crooked mount (film at a slight angle) will help you notice that your own slides may not be straight and level either. The square structure of the film content portrayed inside of a square frame/border/mount helps you see the inaccuracy inherent in the mounting process itself- as done by a professional lab's machine. The film scanners on the market have different resolutions and color rendition accuracy (let's face it - some scanners are truly great and others are not) and my product may make you wish for a better scanner (choose the best scanner with color accuracy and highest DPI Dots Per Inch possible for best scanning results.)

I also provide 1 empty plastic snap together slide in case you would like to remove the film from the paper slide and mount it yourself. For the purists- leave the slide in its original paper mount. Either way - I got you covered as I will include one genuine Polaroid Slide mount with every order.

The materials to make this new product are
Genuine 100% Kodak Elite Chrome.

I use commonly available film processing for accurate comparison results to your very own slide library.

My unique product is really the image itself. The materials, tools and processes to make my product are all standard and well regarded. The selection of colors, the resolution gauge indicators, and fleshtone images are unique. There is no other product which duplicates it. It took alot of work, effort, math and more to provide this resource. I hand drew every bit of it using graphics software. The critical part was the knowledge to create this slide with a mouse in one hand and a calculator in the other hand. You'll love the slide and its low price will astound you when compared to slides selling for hundreds of dollars each. My slide is for the budget conscious buyer who needs a professional target slide to be used exclusively for Kodak Elite Chrome comparison of your own library of slides.

This is not intended to compare other brands or makes of film. Made with Kodak Elite Chrome Slide Film and is made for Kodak Elite Chrome Slide Film use.

Fully and accurately described right down to the shipping box and timeframe. No surprises. What you see is what you get. Actual item pictured.

Glad to answer questions before and after the sale.
All questions answered personally and promptly.

Choice 2:
For Use on Polaroid PolaChrome

Genuine Polaroid Polachrome
Instant 35mm Slide

For Calibration and Experimenting with Color Correction of Instant Film

IT-InstaChrome image is made by Dr Virago Pete and is copyrighted. My product uses 100% Polaroid materials and tools. The design of the contents, colors, built-in indicators, gauges, and scales are my own design. Do not copy, do not resell, do not transmit. Buyer can use this slide in his/her own business/personal for calibration of your own slides. Buyer does not have right to resell or duplicate slide selling immitations or competitive product.

What is it?
A 35mm slide made from discontinued Polaroid Polachrome 12exp 40ASA Color instant film. This was processed by the Polaroid Powerprocessor on March, 2010 using old stock film which worked 100% correctly. The film was cut and mounted on a genuine Polaroid Slide mount.

What makes it unique?
The color calibration target image was created from scratch by me, Dr Virago Pete using mathematics and Photoshop and Photostyler software. The colors are balanced and color corrected and there is no other product which is made for Polachrome instant film which is for color calibration of this film type. No copycats allowed. It is for use with instant 35mm film ONLY. Not for use on standard film types.

The Pros and Cons to Instant Slide Film
It is truly amazing to be able to process your own film in 60 seconds. The goop residue is cleaned carefully leaving a wonderful slide. The dynamics of this 80s and 90s film uses a prismatic/rainbow plastic 35mm plastic film material. If you hold the plastic up to the light it shimmers and shines like a hologram or CD would making a rainbow and multiple reflections in various colors. This effect gives the film color. The saturation of color is low. Also the pittings or pores or color refractions as I've read them described as- gives the film grain and speckled apearance when scanned. The film is both reflective and refractive and is as hard to capture by scanning as would be capturing a hologram on your scanner.

What you get
The slide is perfect and exactly as intended. It is dark, grainy, and low resolution and low contrast. Why? The film was made that way. I am selling only one slide here. Nothing else is offered for sale. The "Polaroid" logo is factory stock on the 35mm plastic mount. The wording "Dr Virago Pete's IT-InstaChrome Calibration Slide" was added by me to identify my image and product- engraved by laser engraver. Highest quality and 100% professionally made on the best equipment and materials.

Novelty or Convenient Instant 35mm Slides are Scannable Yes
The colors are very solid and almost flat without the normal range in colors. Many people like the convenience or novelty of developing their own film. Once you have slides- you may want to digitize them. Correcting the color can be troublesome. My color calibration slide will help you overcome the challenges of scanning or digitizing instant slides- with my slide image.

Some Facts About It
Polaroid instant film is interesting, and if you've never seen it before- you'll enjoy its unique silverish gold on one side and nearly black on the other. The slide mount flips open/closed uniquely also. This slide was also created on a Polaroid 7000 Film Recorder which had output at 4096x2732, The actual quality as recorded by my unique DPI/LPI indicator found on the slide itself is approximately 900dpi which typical of this film type. The low resolution and grainy appearance when scanned is due to the unique film itself - the reflective surface acts as a one-way mirror with many scanners and poses challenges in capturing the images. Reflecting back the scanner's light source. Hence- use my slide for experimenting with your scanner to achieve the best results using specialty software (no software is provided here) or standard image editing software (software you already own) to get the colors and settings just right.

Not happy? Email me and receive your money back. Please no nasty or negative feedback about color or low contrast etc as- this is for the instant film enthusiast. The instant film developing products were not well received by the public (discontinued 10 years ago approx) and only a few die-hard fans (I'm one) love it. The materials to make this new product are rare and my unique product is a result of finding unexposed good film on occasion. The glass is half full not half empty. I'm glad to still be able to find a good half-roll or a good roll out of 5 rolls etc to make this product. It took alot of work, effort, math and more to provide this resource. I hand drew every bit of it using graphics software.
